Er duoen Camilla Sørensen og Greta Christensen. De utfordrer konseptet turntablism ved å intrikat ødelegge og deretter omplassere platespillere og diverse vinyl til verk av skulpturerte lydlige mareritt, kutte plater i biter og fylle hullene med glasskår, søppel eller andre plater for å skape urolige symfonier. Fragmenter av kjent lyd dukker opp som spøkelser, bare for å bli forstyrret av et velplassert metallstykke som faller ned på en roterende plate. Enten det er en presentert som en installasjon eller en konsert – brukes lyd til å skape en fortelling som refererer direkte til mediet som spiller den eller situasjonen den presenteres i.

 

Vinyl Terror & Horror is a duo of Camilla Sørensen and Greta Christensen. They reformat the concept of turntablism by intricately destroying then re-deploying record players and assorted vinyl into works of sculptured aural nightmares, cutting records into pieces and filling the gaps with shards of glass, trash or other records to create uneasy symphonies. Fragments of familiar sound pop into existence like ghosts, only to be disrupted by a well-placed piece of metal dropping onto a spinning disc.
Whether it is a presented as an installation or a concert – uses sound to create a narrative that always directly refer to the medium playing it or the situation it is presented in.
After contributing to the “Nightshift” program in 2022, Vinyl Terror & Horror will play live 19. January 2024.
